Lu silk "Huading Longfeng" dragon and phoenix duvet set

"Huading Dragon and Phoenix" stands as a masterpiece of contemporary Lu silk craftsmanship. This work is the culmination of three and a half years of dedicated research and development, embodying the wisdom and painstaking efforts of our artisans. While strictly adhering to the royal standard of "ten inspections per silk" established for Ming and Qing imperial tributes, it integrates intangible cultural heritage layering and dyeing techniques with modern minimalist aesthetics. The production system comprises 298 precise steps, each following traditional methods—from silkworm breeding and mulberry selection to gold-thread embroidery and inlay. At its core lies the独创 "five-layer, nine-dye" technique, which not only preserves the distinctive opulence of Lu silk weaving but also achieves functional innovation through structural deconstruction. This work establishes an exquisite balance between imperial splendor and modern minimalist aesthetics.

The "Huading Dragon and Phoenix" embroidery technique incorporates a variety of crafts such as gold-thread winding embroidery, velvet embroidery, gold-outlining embroidery, seed-shaped knot embroidery, drawnwork embroidery, and bead embroidery, integrating the highest level of royal embroidery artistry. The entire bedding set features 5,000 meters of gold-thread winding embroidery, 10,000 meters of gold-outlining embroidery, and 15,000 meters of gold thread in total. It is adorned with 28,000 natural red agates and 360 turquoise stones for outlining and stitching. The double happiness character, outlined with natural gemstones, exudes understated luxury, dynamic three-dimensionality, and abundant blessings.

It features 929 hand-embroidered Ruyi patterns, symbolizing good fortune, representing enduring love and eternal happiness. There are 63 hand-embroidered double happiness characters. The number 63 homophonically signifies "the next life" in Chinese, conveying the meaning of lifelong commitment and everlasting love across generations. In the Book of Changes, the number 63 symbolizes prosperity, wealth, the nurturing of all things, the benevolence of rain and dew, and the smooth progression of all endeavors. It is an extremely auspicious number signifying family harmony, longevity, and health. Additionally, there are 108 hand-embroidered lotus heads with interlocking branches. The number 108 carries profound auspicious meaning—representing the 12 months, 24 solar terms, and 72 climatic periods in a year, which add up to 108, symbolizing the perpetual cycle of the seasons and the fullness of time. Thus, 108 represents endless cycles and perfect completeness.

The bedding set features five groups of gold-thread winding patterns depicting the dragon and phoenix—an auspicious symbol of marital harmony. These five groups correspond to the Five Elements, representing the five directions (east, south, west, north, and center) and the five fundamental forms (metal, wood, water, fire, and earth). They also symbolize the completeness of blessings—prosperity, status, longevity, happiness, and wealth. The design of the entire bedding set took a year and a half to complete, with embroidery alone requiring 10,000 hours. A single embroiderer spent approximately three and a half years creating this masterpiece. It can be truly described as: "Magnificent splendor is called 'Huá', and grand solemnity is called 'Dǐng' ."This work embodies the majestic elegance of a flourishing era, offering the most profound blessings and auspiciousness.
